itty bitty korean melons…

14 May

On a random walk through downtown Vancouver, I stopped by a Korean grocery store called H-Mart.  In the produce section, there were these adorable miniature yellow melons that were named…well…Korean Melons.  I guess not that creative but the real Korean name for these small guys is Dua Gan.

They smell exactly like honeydews and taste like it too!  Slightly more mild, the flesh is crisp and fresh tasting.  Scrape out the seeds and you can eat it exactly like any other melon, except this one is an individual serving!

They keep surprisingly well in the fridge too, so bring some along on your next picnic in the sun!
